COURSE DESCRIPTION & GOALS |
The course offers students an opportunity to learn about traditional culture that Korea has nurtured for thousands of years. Understanding of Korean traditional culture will be discovered by different ways: – by exploring history, literature, art, traditions and rituals and customs of – daily life of Koreans from ancient times until the present, – by recognition of symbols, values and heritage of Korea, – by cross-cultural difference comparison, discussion and reflection. The course is a combination of lectures and tutorials and it implies interactions between teacher and students. Students are supposed not only to listen and take notes, but to participate in the lesson discussing and searching for the knowledge. Making reports and participating in discussions, students acquire sense of the customs and traditions of Korean culture and those of theirs. |
